The Boston Marathon

The next Boston Marathon will be held April 16, 2007

Back in 1897 the world's oldest annual marathon got its start. With a starting field of just 15 people, John J. McDermott won the race in 2:55:10. Obviously, the world has changed. 110 years later Robert K. Cheruiyot beat was the first of the 20,000 road racers to finish the race in a blazing 2:07:14.
